On 1 April 2016, the go-ahead was given to build the Matterhorn glacier ride. Three summers of construction work later, in September 2018, the cableway of superlatives was officially inaugurated. During that period, 145 people from 38 different companies were involved in the biggest construction project in the history of Zermatt Bergbahnen AG. Thanks to the professionalism of our partners in the project, and despite the extremely adverse conditions, the work was completed on time and without incident.
